Again in this video, Rob Riches talks about how we can engage the obliques muscles while training. You see, a lot of people (observe those training in the background) never think while training their bodies in the gym. He clearly demonstrates the how by showing the differences between not engaging his abs and really engaging them. Also, not many people ever have the time to train up the obliques, which actually are critical if you want to achieve that ripped look. It certainly can add on the “WOW” factor when your shirt is off. Really beneficial for me, and I hope it will be equally useful as tips for you as well.
Well, in case if your don’t understand what I’m talking about, it refers to the learning of a process without an understanding of why it works. Therefore, if you want to train your abs more effectively and get better results, this video is not to be missed! But bear in mind that there are many ways to train up one’s muscles, including the abs. In reality, there are no hard and fast rules and there’s no one way to do a thing. So indulge the info with an open mind, ok? (I know some of you will have different opinions of some sorts)

Should you be looking to gain some muscle mass, then you’ll need a lean muscle mass diet. A thing to keep in mind is that although many bodybuilders and weight lifters had come across as successful people, however some could accomplish better if they really focused on their diet. One should watch one’s nutrition, and monitor favorably against what one is trying to achieve in the training regimen, so that one can gain muscle mass properly in the long run.

The 1st step towards a lean muscle mass diet is to make it simple to follow. This is an excellent example where most people will tend to forget and they spend all their time waking and pondering over what kind of food they can take. Indeed, a lean muscle mass diet is essentially vital, but not so to the extend of forgetting the real underlying purpose for.

It is crucial to have protein in your lean muscle mass diet, and eating it enables your muscles to recover in a faster manner. There’s a thing people do not usually care about during workout sessions, and that is their muscles can get “damaged” in the process of training. During these moments, the muscles need to take steps to regain itself, and often these measures can take place during sleeping intervals.

Good protein is normally acquired from fish, eggs, meats and also milk products. As usual, one should ensure one is not lactose intolerant prior to consuming lots of dairy food, and that you have to definitely eat lean. By taking lean food does not imply that one should not consume beef and wholesome eggs sometimes, provided one doesn’t overdo it.

Protein intake at the appropriate time is equally important. An example of such will be that one should consume carbohydrates for breakfast and prior to workout sessions. Further, one should ideally take carbs right after one’s workouts since they are less likely to store up as fat. You need to take note just some of these things associated with eating protein and carbs in your day-to-day diet.

Another important matter you have to know is to assess how much protein to take. It is necessary that you either pay a nutritionist a visit or waste lots of hours exploring various food combinations when you’re determining the best food to build muscles. Such as that should you discover you’re gaining too much weight too soon, you’ll need to reduce on the amount of carbohydrates. If you are not having good results with weight gain at all, then you should refrain from taking too much protein.

Those are some things to fine-tune on if you are to execute a workable schedule, and the next thing is not to over focus on the process. There are people who really indulge their time on how to lose weight and build muscle, hence they examine too much on the details of food intake. This doesn’t do you good, and it may not help you contribute towards your goals. If that’s the situation, refrain from trying out this kind of activity if possible. Eventually, one has to look at oneself, one’s body, and what one prefers to do, but one can definitely develop lean muscle mass one’s looking for if one can stay close to the right routine plan.

Richard Sullivan, author of “Reclaim Your Youth: Growing Younger After 40″ talks about the convenient myth that the older you get, the harder it is to stay in shape. Not true.

I was very motivated when I watched this video. This really illustrates and proves that the will power of the human spirit can overcome the odds of life. Just by looking at Richard in the video really proves that we can build a healthy and fit body even after 40 or even at 60. Question here is how to really pursue it to make a reality. And in Richard’s case, it’s a living testimonial! So, all of you are lazy buns and procrastinators out there, get off your butts and work out! Have some determination and self-motivation.

The last part of the video is even inspiring. Richard talks about his attitude and mindset about health and fitness. Which makes me realize that other than building the best physique, we can apply this strong mindset in other aspects of our lives; that is the will power to make something happen if we really pursue it hard enough. Therefore, enjoy this sharing of life’s perspective!

Have you ever wonder why humans have muscles? Considering that many people, regardless male or female, young or old, want to have a muscular and toned body. Let everyone is too conscious about building muscle mass without realizing and understanding what types of muscles that are found on one’s body, and their functions. Hence, this is the objective of this article.

3 types of muscle tissue found, namely: skeletal, cardiac and smooth.

Skeletal muscle tissue, which is also called voluntary muscles, contains strips, is attached to and covers the bony skeleton. It’s the only muscle that can be consciously controlled by our body. Voluntary muscles can be contracted quickly, get fatigue easily and need resting after short periods of activity. But these muscles can exert great power and can be highly adaptable. For instance, your hand muscles can exert a force of a fraction of an ounce to pick up a dropped paper clip and the same muscles can also exert a force of about 70 pounds to pick a heavy book.

Cardiac muscle tissue only exists in the heart, where it forms the main bulk of the heart walls. They also in come in the form of strips or striations. However, they are not voluntary. In other words, we will not have any control on how fast our hearts can beat.

Smooth muscle tissue is found in the hollow walls of visceral organs such as the stomach, urinary bladder and in the passages of respiratory. It functions to direct fluids and other substances through internal body functions. The muscle fibers of smooth muscle tissue also contracts slowly and prolongs for an extended period.

Muscle tissue has been given some special functions in order for it to perform its duties. Muscle tissues are sensitive, and they tend to respond and receive to any change to either the internal or external environment of the body. Normally, the response can be in the form of electrical impulse that causes the membrane of the muscle cell to contract or expand. In addition, this ability to contract when muscle tissues are stimulated, leads to a differentiation of this muscle from the rest of the other tissue types in the body.

On the other hand, muscle tissue also comes with the ability to be extended or stretched, even beyond their length at rest. And after being stretched, muscle fibers can recoil and go back to its original length.

By understanding the types of muscle tissues found on our body, it’s equally vital to know the functions of these muscle tissues.

Muscles have 4 important functions for the body, namely:

Generate movement

Maintain body posture

Stabilize the joints

Produce heat

If you observe, all our body movements come about from the contraction of muscles. Examples such as are jumping out of the way from danger, controlling our eyeballs, and smiling. In the case of cardiac muscle, it is the flow of blood through our body through rhythmic beats of the heart and the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels that assist in maintaining blood pressure. Movement is created when smooth muscles in organs of digestive or reproductive tracts propels or squeezes fluids or substances through the organs.

You may not be aware of the workings of the skeletal muscles that reinforce our body postures. Nevertheless, these muscles function endlessly by creating small movements that allow us to sustain an upright or seated posture even in the state of downward force of the earth’s gravity.

One of the other critical function of muscles is stabilizing the joints in our body. Even though muscles pull on bones to result in movements, they also serve as stabilizers and help strengthen the joints of the skeleton.

During the process of contraction, muscles also produce heat. Essentially, this heat helps to maintain normal body temperature. As skeletal muscle makes up at least 40% of body mass, it’s for the most part responsible for producing heat.

A fifth function, which is of a minor one, is that skeletal muscles protect more fragile internal organs of the body by providing an enclosure. In addition, smooth muscles form valves to control the passing of bodily substances through internal body openings.

You may be asking: well, by knowing all these what’s got to do with building muscle mass on one’s body? If you think further, it sure has some additional benefits and applications. First, when we understand how muscles work, especially skeletal muscles, we can choose the most appropriate weight training exercises to get the best desirable results in a reasonable time frame. For those who had never take up any fitness training programs before in their lives, you should seriously consider an essential need to start exercising. Because, muscles will waste away over time if they are not used. This is a natural reaction of how our body functions. Just like our ancestors who had tails before. The fact that those tails gradually disappeared due to lack of use and function over time. Not forgetting that our bodies will grow weak one final day, and those muscles may come in useful in sustaining the aging and brittle bone structure. As our bones can become so weak, and susceptible to bone fractures, having strong muscles can help support it better. Hence, this can give us a more graceful aging process in the long run.

Next, a lot of people who work in offices, often neglect their sitting postures. As a result, many have experienced lower back pains, etc. So realizing that muscles have such a function of maintaining our posture, it’s evident and imperative that we should self-check our own postures and discover certain back strengthening exercises to help reduce the problems. Further, since muscles can stabilize joints, we do need to inculcate good lifestyle habits to exercise moderately and eat healthily. As such results will only be evidently experienced when one starts to age into the senior years.

As our bodies are made to move rather than living sedentary lifestyles, it doesn’t make sense to enclose ourselves in air-conditioned rooms for too long and get bored down by work stress! Therefore, one should sometimes get a balance by doing some form of recreational exercises that best suit one’s interest and time.

As we observe, knowing and acknowledging these tips can certainly benefit us and lead us to think how and when we should give our bodies and mind a decent rest!

Throughout the times, people have been asking this old time big question: how can we maximize muscle growth and with valid justification? Well, having a trim and muscular body are considered essential pre-requisites in modern society nowadays! One can certainly achieve better success with huge muscle growth if you know how, and to realize this one needs to question own self whether one should incorporate resting periods in between sets of weight-training sessions.

As you go through your weight training sessions you most probably have experienced soreness at one point or the other, and most people have fallen into the belief that this soreness can assist them to get a more complete workout on the whole. It’s wrong to have this sort of thinking, and frankly this will lead you to focus too much on getting fatigue rather than the workout itself. Thus, the end result is that you’ll have to endure lots of hardship in your workouts.

First, by not taking a break during the workout sets, something will occur such as that the cardiovascular aspect of your body is compelled to work much harder to support these activities your body is undertaking, hence you’ll find that it’s tougher to concentrate on the present training session. Further, you may discover that you can’t fully lift heavier weights overall when you don’t give your body a decent rest. In all, the whole training session will be less than optimal in result, and that is definitely not a nice end-goal by itself.

One of the other misconceptions of weight training is some of you believe that when the body is circulating more blood, it’s actually to compensate for the work done during the workouts. Here again, this kind of diagnosis couldn’t be more false. A probable question one may have is actually whether to take a short break in between sets of weight lifting that will improve on muscle growth.

The answer then is a distinct yes. If you rest you won’t just feel better, additionally, you will possess way more tolerance for the next set, which will certainly be beneficial throughout your exercise routine. Some other excellent benefits of resting between sets will be to protect and preserve your muscles. This is something which most people will fail to understand as during workouts, muscle fibers are stretched apart due to the weights. However, this damage is not significant enough for one to get noticed, hence one can get muscle soreness. Our body will automatically repair these “damaged” muscles while we sleep, and thus that’s how those muscles can get stronger. With that said, you have to see that you always take brief breaks in order to prevent damage.

While trying to maximize muscle growth, there are some important tips to bear in mind, although they’re just only form the basics of more complex things to come. Nonetheless, this present moment will be a good time to begin searching for other higher level information pertaining to muscle growth, and realize that there’s much more to know than what you’ve already learned. If you observe bodybuilders, you may just see them lifting those weights, however you should often keep in mind that a lot more things are happening behind which you have not seen it. Such things like nutrition, workout routines and the manner of which these are conducted have to be taken into consideration, but once you manage to set your personal routine, and it’ll one that functions well for you. So what’s holding you up now? Now the time is ripe for you to start working and bulk up those muscles like never before!
